The Department of Near Eastern Archaeology is part of the Institute of Classical Studies and is located in the Münchfeld district of Mainz together with the departments of Ancient Oriental Philology and Egyptology.

How to find us:
Coming from the campus you will reach the Hegelstrasse directly, when walking over the pedestrian bridge at the Saarstraße (Bus stop "Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer Weg"). From the main entrance of the campus (bus stop "Universität") or from the central train station (bus stop "Hauptbahnhof-West") you can take the bus line 6 (to Münchfeld/Gonsenheim) and line 78 (to Finthen) to the Hegelstrasse (bus stop "Hegelstraße" or "Münchfeld"). The building itself is situated at the end of the Hegelstraße next to the HDI Gerling GmbH and the Bundesbank.
